10 Jul: Cameron County Confirms Additional COVID-19 Related Deaths

Cameron County has received confirmation of six additional COVID-19 related deaths of Cameron County residents. The individuals were a 47-year old male from La Feria, a 60-year old male from Primera, a 71-year old male from Rio Hondo, a 73-year old male from Brownsville, and a 75-year old male and 79-year old female from Harlingen. This raises the number of COVID-19 related deaths in Cameron County to seventy-seven (77). Cameron County has also received confirmation of an additional 250 case reports of COVID-19. The individual was a 74-year old male resident of Spanish Meadows in Brownsville and was a previously reported case. This raises the number of COVID-19 related deaths in Cameron County to 71. Cameron County has received confirmation of two additional COVID-19 related deaths of Cameron County residents. The individuals were a 65-year old female and 81-year old male from Brownsville. They were both previously reported cases. This raises the number of COVID-19 related deaths in Cameron County to 70. Under the authority granted to Cameron County pursuant to Texas Natural Resources Code Section 61.132 which permits the Texas General Land Office ("GLO") and the County to enter into a memorandum of agreement under the terms of which Boca Chica Beach may be closed temporarily for space launches and in conformity with the Memorandum of Agreement, contract number 2013C08253/GLO contract number 13-447-000-7916 between the County and the GLO that delineates the circumstances under which the County is authorized to close the beach and beach access points for the limited purpose of protecting Public Health and Safety during spaceflight activities and the Texas Department of Transportation authorized a Space X Roadway Closure Traffic Control Plan to perform road closures on State Highway 4;

The individuals were a 23-year male from Rancho Viejo, a 42-year male from Harlingen, and a 68-year old male from San Benito. In addition, there was a 92-year old female resident of The Rio at Fox Hollow. This raises the number of COVID-19 related deaths in Cameron County to 67. Cameron County has also received confirmation of an additional 87 case reports of COVID-19. This includes the following:
