Since first taking office in the year 2000, Commissioner Garza has been a tireless advocate for the residents of his precinct, working relentlessly to enhance road infrastructure, promote county transparency, fostering good government practices and championing sustainability.

He has been instrumental in spearheading numerous initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for the residents of Cameron County. His commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility has not only shaped local policies but has also led to tangible improvements that benefit both current and future generations.

Commissioner David A. Garza was born and raised in San Isidro, Texas; he is a 1975 graduate of UT Austin with a B.S. in Pharmacy. He is the owner and pharmacist of The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy since 1980. Married to Dorothy Moody-Garza, he and his wife are the proud parents of three grown children and seven grandchildren.
