The following is a plan to partially reopen the Cameron County Park facilities, in accordance with the current Order issued by Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr. The facilities and amenities being recommended for reopening foster activities, which can be closely monitored for compliance with current COVID-19 regulations. Park staff will work closely with law enforcement to ensure visitors are adhering to park rules and guidelines.

More than 20 representatives of Texas communities spent this week in virtual meetings with the Washington offices of Texas senators and members of Congress, key committee staff and administration officials urging federal officials to continue and accelerate the ongoing development of Interstate 69.

In light of the unforeseen COVID-19 pandemic and to honor all County park pass holders, Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr. and the Cameron County Commissioners’ Court has approved extensions of annual and 30-day park passes.
As Cameron County deals with this emergency situation, Cameron County Parks is temporarily suspending receipt of any future RV and Camping reservations effective today for Isla Blanca Park and Andy Bowie Park until further notice.
The Isla Blanca Park and Andy Bowie Park Registration Offices have reopened this morning. The Adolph Thomae, Jr. County Park and the Jaime J. Zapata Memorial Boat Ramp will be re-opening this morning at 10:00 a.m.

Cameron County Parks & Recreation is currently monitoring Tropical Storm Hanna which is forecast to make landfall along the lower Texas coast mid to late Saturday morning. There is an increase chance that it can become a Hurricane.
