24 Apr: Plan to Partially Re-Open Coastal and Community Parks

The following is a plan to partially reopen the Cameron County Park facilities, in accordance with the current Order issued by Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr. The facilities and amenities being recommended for reopening foster activities, which can be closely monitored for compliance with current COVID-19 regulations. Park staff will work closely with law enforcement to ensure visitors are adhering to park rules and guidelines.

24 Apr: Emergency Management Order Clarifying and Updating Lifting of Certain Restrictions

On April 20, 2020, Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, Jr., issued an Emergency Management Order Extending Mandatory Countywide Shelter in Place with Lifting of Certain Restrictions based on guidance from state and local health authorities and the CDC. Effective today, April 24, 2020, an Emergency Management Order Clarifying and Updating Lifting of Certain Restrictions is ordered and shall commence on April 25, 2020, at 12:01 a.m. and remain in effect until rescinded in writing by Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, Jr.

On April 7, 2020 Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, Jr., issued the Supplemental Emergency Management Order and Recommendations Concerning Additional Travel Restrictions and Face Coverings due to the increasing concerns of a COVID-19 spike and outbreak. in the U.S. In conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), it was recommended to utilize a face mask/ covering when out in public and that all travel deemed essential or necessary be limited to no more than two (2) individuals per vehicle, and when possible, be voluntarily limited to one ( l) person per vehicle due to the CDC recommendation of social distancing not being possible in most vehicles.
